Cowboy Lounge in Denver

Went here briefly as a designated driver, the fact that they charge cover was hidden behind the first guy checking ids so you're in the door by the time you realize there's a cover charge, and then they had the audacity to demand the DD pay cover... Short story two friends were out the cover charge due to the no refunds policy since we weren't staying. What bs.

This dump sucks. Broke back lounge is more accurate. Food is the worst in Denver. Just go anywhere else

Man i was expecting more. This place is very underwhelming. Lots of losers frequent here and the bar is slow and unimpressive. Music isn't that good for a country bar. The dance floor is pretty good sized but all in all the place is pretty trashy.

Imagine the segment of the American public whose gene pool most closely resembles a Superfund site and where they might go for 10 cocktails on the weekend. Now do you see why your society is circling the drain?

if you like country this isn't it. its half rap and r&b pop crap. if you like country pop stuff mixed with this other stuff then this is your spot.

If you like to dance to country music in a trendy atmosphere this is the place. Not your typical country bar.

WARNING - NEVER GO HERE FOR A BACHELORETTE PARTY!!!!I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS BAR! We had 12 girls with a Bachelorette party, and the bar mandated that we all pay a cover charge. Not only was the bar not that busy, but the bouncers and management were REALLY RUDE about delivering the news. We easily would have spent more money at the bar than a measly $5 cover.Don't waste your time!

Fun bar, but they almost always have cover and their music selection can be a little too "pop-y" at times

Ladies night here is bullshit. Girls get in free and get free drinks. Meanwhile guys pay like a $10 cover and then are charged like 8 bucks for a 24oz beer. Music is awful. If someone in your group says, "oooo let's go to cowboy lounge!" They are not your friend.

Always a good time and a good mix of country and hip hop, good dancing here too

Worst experience ever. Wouldn't give this bar a single penny of my money. Security freaked out over my vertical ID and put me through the ringer acting like my ID was fake. It was a ridiculous start to the evening. Do not go here. Ever. Not worth it.

Honestly I kinda hate this place. They always charge a cover for guys which sucks and it's gotten more expensive. It's nothing great and not worth the cover. The dancing is fun as long as you like country and are there with a fun group otherwise the atmosphere sucks. It gets really really busy on weekends so make sure you like crowds, sweat, and getting bumped into. I think it's filled with a bunch of d-bags, but sometimes my girlfriends like to go so I will. There are better country bars though I think!

I like this place but don't try to do anything out of line or they will toss you out!

"Cowboy themed but nothing country about this place. Music is awful hip hop dance music with a remixed country song every once in awhile. The up side is cowboy boots are completely acceptable and the bartenders did do a great job but I'm surprised there isn't a decent country music bar here outside of the Grizzly Rose. Fits into the LoDo scene but don't go here expecting to enjoy good country music.

Fun, lively bar that plazas plaz plaintiff plays Country Music and some Hip Hop.

We had an event here on Saturday and the sound system was great! We've had other events where the audience couldn't hear our speakers so this was nice.

This place is not a country bar. They played 2 or 3 country songs over the course of a few hours. The majority of the music was rap and hip hop. I asked the DJ to play more country music and he said it was coming up but all he played was rap and hip hop. Definitely avoid this bar if you want to two-step and listen to country. Where I come from, country bars play 20-30 country songs, then 4-5 rap/hip hop songs and then more country. Very disappointing and I will avoid this place as much as I can in the future. ViewHouse down the street played more country songs in the short time I was there. Won't be back.

The bathrooms were very dirty. They had no paper in the stals nor for your hands that made them very unsairaity. After a $200.00+Tab our bartender Ivan and management were very rude. I was auppauled with the comments made by upper management and staff in regauards to customers as well as our group of four. I will never return or recommend this bar.

KICKED OUT EVEN WHEN NOT DRUNK

If I could give 0 stars that would be a more fitting rating. I was entertaining a group of people from Germany, they asked to go to a country bar. Having no better country music option in Denver we took them to the Cowboy Lounge. The incredibly disrespectful doorman would not allow my guests in, when I asked for the manager he seemed annoyed but obliged. The manager told me that they don't except foreign ID. When push on why he had no intelligent answer. Every person in my group was over the age of 35 so being of age was not the concern. The Cowboy Lounge should be incredibly embarrassed for making guests in our country feel unwelcome. But after reading the several horrible reviews I should not have been surprised.

Been here numerous times with the same group of people. All of sudden refusing to let some of the group in due to 2 tiny behind the ear tattoos. Mind u we have been here a handful of times week after week and have never had an issue with tattoos. Ridiculous.

Not a country place at all. Disorganized and a bunch of dumb people dancing like animals. The guy receiving the money before getting was aggressive with a group that by mistake paid twice and he didn't return the money. I should get out of there when I saw it. Don't expect having real country dancing at this place. I'm new in the city and I hope never return there.

Gets really busy on the weekends, but an awesome place to party at

The staff here is horrible and inconsiderate. One of the employees was in the alley running his mouth not letting cars through the alley when everyone on the block was trying to close for the night. Blocking cars so you can dump your trash and talking crap to people trying to get by is not ok. You are still on the clock so you should probably act somewhat professional even though you are taking out trash. I can't wait till this place closes down and a more respectable staff moves in.

I've only been here for ladies night on Thursday which is ladies drink free 9-12. Great place if you and your girls want to get more drunk than usual and dance to some great country AND todays hits.

Security kicked out my stone-cold sober friend who wasnt feeling well due to a dinner that didn't agree with him. He hadn't had a drop to drink, and we were basically forced to find another bar. Ended up splitting up our group, and therefore completely derailing our celebration. Bartenders were nice, though.

The door girl is extremely disrespectful and the staff is not much better. Horrible!!

Atmosphere is what you'd expect of a country western bar. Cover for guys and not for girls? Get with the times and move past the old fashioned marketing standards.

Ok. But not a great live venue. Told the band that they had to be done by 10pm, even though there were 300 people in attendance. The band had to negotiate and got an extension on the time at about 9:45, but you could see it soured everyone's mood. Also, it's next door to a nightclub that is owned by the same owners. The DJs had their volume so high that we kept having to send people over to ask them to turn it down. There were only a handful of people at the club. You could tell that the cowboy Lounge doesn't have much live music.

This place sucks. There is little more than the western ensembles that staff is wearing that makes this place country. I know it says rock as well on the signage bike I'm pretty is was mostly R&B coming through the speakers. You have better, sans-cover options.

This is the only place not accepting my Swiss driver license ever. Really who wants to have their passport with them while going out? In the 12 months travelling in the USA it has never happened. I've been to Nevada, California, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Pennsylvania ect. nowhere I had an issue. They refused to let me in and I love country music and I'm on my own. Do they know anything about any other country out of USA? This is not freedom at all and very unsocial.

Music is good and the atmosphere is great. This place just gets incredibly hot and stifling. They turn on fans but they only work if you are standing in front of them.

If youre up for some dancing and drinks good place to stop later in the night

Horrible place, don't recommend if you are of a certain ethnicity, as they may turn you away.

Loud music that can be a cross between country and hard rock. Great people watching. Drinks add up fast.

If you like country music you will love this place! On thursdays they have all you can drink for ladies all night! Always a great time!

Kinda hit or miss! I’ve had some great experiences here with very fun times with great upbeat country music and rock, then other nights where the music is not the best. Still always end up here with I’m downtown, hoping for the best lol also I suggest going after 11pm or else it’s super lonely.

Ladies night on Thursday is definitely the best time to go

This place is just so much fun. Strangers will help you with dancing and the DJ will hook you up with tunes. Always visit when in Oklahoma over from the UK.

Fun place to come with a group of friend's that are only semi into country music. Interesting to people watch at too.

thursdays ladies drink free!! Other than a thursday night it can be somewhat dead. but its always a great time!
